Job Title: National Academic Lead Field Education

As a senior academic professional, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing field education placements for Bachelor of Social Work and Master of Social Work programs at our esteemed institution.

The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the quality of placements aligns with Australian Social Work Education and Accreditation Standards. With flexible location options, our team offers an opportunity to work from one of our campuses located in Sydney, Melbourne, or Adelaide.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop, implement, and review field education units to ensure they meet the highest standards.
  • Sustain strong relationships with external agencies to provide students with valuable learning experiences.
  • Oversee student placement performance, grades, and any issues that may arise, providing timely support and guidance.
  • Review student feedback and agency performance on placement experience to continually improve our services.
  • Collaborate with field education staff to effectively manage all student placement issues, fostering a positive and supportive environment.
Qualifications and Skills:

Essential Qualifications:

  • AASW membership eligibility.
  • Five years (FTE) of post-qualifying practice experience in core social work areas.
  • Ability to provide leadership and develop teaching materials for the Social Work Field Education program.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Current Working with Children Check and National Police Check.
  • Awareness of OHS responsibilities.

Desirable Qualifications:

  • Doctoral qualification in Social Work or significant progress towards completion.
  • Research scholarship track record in an area aligned with our institution's priorities.
  • Experience supporting social work placements.
  • Teaching experience in social work or cognate disciplines.
  • Experience using online placement management systems.
  • International student support experience.
  • Supervisory or management experience in agency-based settings.
