Academic Lead Field Education

The role of Academic Lead for Field Education is a critical position within the university, responsible for ensuring the quality of field education placements for students in Bachelor and Master programs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, implement, and review field education units to ensure alignment with Australian Social Work Education and Accreditation Standards (ASWEAS).">
  • Maintain relationships with agencies to support existing and new partnerships.">
  • Oversee student placement performance, grades, and issues.">
  • Review student feedback and agency performance on placement experience.">
  • Support field education staff in addressing student placement issues.">

Required Qualifications:

  • ">
  • AASW membership eligibility.">
  • Minimum 5 years of post-qualifying practice experience in core social work areas.">
  • Leadership skills and ability to develop high-quality teaching materials using innovative strategies and technologies.">
  • Excellent oral and written communication, interpersonal skills, and relationship-building abilities.">
  • Current Working with Children Check and National Police Check or ability to obtain.">
  • OHS awareness and willingness to attend training as required.">

Desirable Qualifications:

  • ">
  • Doctoral qualification in Social Work or significant progress toward completion.">
  • Scholarship/research track record growth in ACAP priority areas.">
  • Experience supporting social work/placements in community services.">
  • Tertiary teaching experience in social work/cognate disciplines.">
  • Online placement management system (SONIA) experience.">
  • International student support experience.">
  • Agency-based supervisory/management experience.">
