Mine Accountant

A leading global mining conglomerate is seeking a permanent Mine Accountant to join their team in the Central Highlands region of Queensland. This is a residential role, with the option for DIDO (fly-in, fly-out) arrangements.
Key Responsibilities- Financial Reporting: Prepare end-of-month financial and management reports, analyzing data and forecasting budget variances.
- Cost Centre Review: Review and analyze cost centres, ensuring accurate and efficient financial management.
- General Ledger Maintenance: Maintain the general ledger and asset register, ensuring accurate and up-to-date financial records.
- CAPEX Management: Manage and report on capital expenditure, ensuring effective financial planning and management.
- Collaboration and Communication: Collaborate with external auditors, responding to queries and ensuring smooth financial operations.
- Budget Preparation: Assist in the preparation of budgets, ensuring accurate and effective financial planning.
- KPI Reporting: Report on key performance indicators, ensuring effective financial management and decision-making.
- Accounting Qualifications: Hold an accounting-related degree and be a Certified Accountant (CA) or Certified Public Accountant (CPA), or be working towards accreditation.
- Financial Management Skills: Demonstrate strong financial management skills, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
- Leadership and Communication Skills: Possess strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to build and manage complex budgets and financial systems.
- Previous Experience: Have previous experience in an accounting environment, with practical familiarity with financial processes, reporting, and compliance.
- Technical Skills: Possess advanced Excel skills, with proficiency in spreadsheet tools and data analysis.
