We are seeking a skilled Medical Scientist to join our team at Central Adelaide Local Health Network.

About the Job

As a Medical Scientist, you will be responsible for participating in the scientific and technical operation of the Microbiology Department to provide a 24-hour service.

You will apply scientific and technical knowledge, expertise, and competence to perform a range of routine diagnostic techniques, including participation in problem definition, planning, execution, analysis, and reporting.

The position is classified at the MeS-1 level by virtue of the overall level of job demand and responsibility.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Apply scientific and technical knowledge to perform routine diagnostic techniques.
  • Participate in problem definition, planning, execution, analysis, and reporting.
  • Contribute to the development, selection, and adoption of new techniques and methodologies.
  • Assist in the training and supervision of technical laboratory staff.

Requirements:

  • Candidates must possess strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential for this role.
  • A high level of physical fitness is required due to the rotational day, afternoon, and night shift roster.
  • Candidates must hold a relevant qualification and/or experience in a related field.
