Senior Family Services Practitioner Allocations Coordinator

Job Description:

As a Senior Family Services Practitioner (Allocations Coordinator), you will be responsible for coordinating all aspects of referral, entry, engagement, and allocation of cases from Child FIRST/The Orange Door. This includes undertaking risk and needs assessments, delivering short-term case management, and providing an active holding function to children and families who are referred to the Family Services Program.

About the Role:

This role is ideal for someone with a strong background in child and family welfare, and experience in case management. You will work collaboratively with Child Protection to support families to enhance parenting capacity, family functioning, and promote child safety.

Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate all aspects of referral, entry, engagement, and allocation of cases from Child FIRST/The Orange Door.
  • Undertake risk and needs assessments, deliver short-term case management, and provide an active holding function to children and families.
  • Work collaboratively with Child Protection to support families to enhance parenting capacity, family functioning, and promote child safety.

Requirements:
  • Tertiary qualification in Social Work, Psychology, or related discipline.
  • Current Drivers licence valid in Victoria.
  • Demonstrated experience in the community services sector in a case management role.
  • Demonstrated experience in the child and family welfare field, this experience will be in Child Protection, Out of Home Care, Family Services and/or other services working with vulnerable families and children.
  • Experience working with young people who have experienced abuse and trauma.
  • Understanding of the implications of abuse and trauma.
