Job Title: Community Rehabilitation Specialist

The Department of Corrections and Justice Services is seeking a Community Rehabilitation Specialist to provide individualized care that motivates, encourages, and promotes reintegration into the community.

About the Role:
  • Contribute to the development, coordination, and delivery of programs addressing the rehabilitation needs of remand and sentenced cohorts.
  • Assess suitability and eligibility for program participation and align program activity to individual case plan goals.
About You:
  • Demonstrated understanding of the rehabilitation needs and issues experienced by individuals in custody.
  • Experience in coordinating and facilitating programs within a rehabilitation or social services field.
  • Able to communicate sensitively and effectively with diverse cohorts, especially Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities.

This role contributes to the delivery of the Reintegration Pathway and participates in case-planning and case management activity, as required.

Some key responsibilities include:

  • Coordinating and delivering offence-related programs.
  • Providing support, guidance, and motivation to individuals in care.
  • Encouraging program participation, engagement with program content, and the development of life skills.
