Community Rehabilitation Specialist

We are seeking individuals who want to make a positive impact in their community. As a Community Rehabilitation Specialist, you will be responsible for supervising offenders at community work sites and promoting the rehabilitative benefits of community work programs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise teams of offenders at community work sites ensuring they meet program objectives
  • Represent our organization in a professional and ethical manner, fostering positive relationships with stakeholders
  • Promote the rehabilitative benefits of community work programs to offenders and the broader community
  • Instruct offenders on safe work practices and provide guidance when needed
  • Monitor offender behavior, providing support and addressing any issues that may arise

A Day in the Life

As a Community Rehabilitation Specialist, your day may involve transporting offenders to community work sites, supervising them during tasks such as litter collection and bike repair, and monitoring their behavior to ensure a safe environment.

Requirements

  • Experience in supervisory roles with a demonstrated ability to set work tasks and manage conflict effectively
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to build rapport with offenders and other stakeholders
  • Ability to tow trailers and transport offenders and equipment safely
  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills and ability to think critically, making informed decisions in complex situations
  • Ability to model appropriate behaviors and attitudes to assist offenders in developing new skills and achieving rehabilitation goals
