Job Overview

The NSW Office for Youth is seeking a strategic leader to promote the voices of young people through a centralised pathway for youth engagement, communication, and co-design.

About the Position
  • Provide visionary leadership for the Office for Youth, working to enhance the safety, welfare, and well-being of all children and young people in NSW.
  • Monitor, understand, and advocate for their issues, creating holistic and sustainable solutions for their direct benefit.
Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement policies and programs that advance the rights and interests of children and young people.
  • Build relationships with key stakeholders, including government agencies, community organisations, and young people themselves.
  • Ensure accountability and transparency in the system by providing oversight and investigatory powers.
Requirements
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications and experience, including knowledge of child rights and related legislation and issues.
  • Well-developed understanding of global and whole-of-government principles, policies, challenges, and current trends relating to children and young people.
  • Working knowledge of NSW Machinery of Government.
