About Our Initiative

We are seeking a dedicated Youth Mental Health Advocate to join our team. This role will focus on supporting the implementation and delivery of child and youth mental health services within a recovery framework.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Support staff to increase their capacity for carer inclusive practice, promoting a culture of collaboration and mutual respect.
  • Work with mental health service teams to align our services strategically with the needs of young people and their families.
  • Develop and implement initiatives that enhance partnership working with carers, including service provision, co-production, consultation, and advocacy.
  • Foster an environment where the voices of carers are heard and valued at all levels of the health service.

Requirements for Success

  • A personal experience of caring for someone with mental health challenges and demonstrated knowledge of recovery principles.
  • A degree in a relevant field is required for payment purposes.
  • Demonstrated expertise in planning, implementing, and evaluating group and individual peer-led interventions.
  • A commitment to recovery-oriented services and peer involvement in service design, implementation, and evaluation.
