Job Opportunity

This role involves working as a Maintenance Carpenter Apprentice, providing an opportunity to develop skills and knowledge in carpentry through hands-on maintenance and repairs. The individual will be responsible for supporting the Building Maintenance team with tasks including repairing doors, windows and fixtures, replacing damaged timber, installation and repair of parkland furniture & equipment, fencing, minor concreting works, and using hand and power tools.

Key Responsibilities:
  • To read and follow established maintenance plans, ensuring safety in occupied buildings.
  • To contribute to the preparation and presentation of the city through on-the-job and off-the-job training during the apprenticeship.
Benefits:
  • A temporary full-time position up to 4 years (or for the duration of the apprenticeship).
  • A 38-hour workweek with access to a 9 Day Fortnight.
  • A competitive salary range from $601.70 per week (16 years old) to $827.40 per week (18 years and over).
  • Plus 12% superannuation.
  • On-the-job training.
  • Compulsory course costs paid by the employer.
  • Approved leave to attend TAFE.

Requirements:
