About the Role

Our Maintenance Carpenter Apprentice program provides a comprehensive learning experience for individuals seeking a career in carpentry.

Throughout this apprenticeship, you will gain hands-on experience in maintenance and repairs, working with our team to ensure the city's assets are safe, functional, and well-maintained.

You will have the opportunity to develop practical skills and knowledge related to the presentation of our city, including:

  • Maintenance and repair of doors, windows, and fixtures
  • Timber replacement and installation
  • Parkland furniture and equipment repair, as well as fencing and minor concreting works
  • Use of hand and power tools

To be successful in this role, you must be able to work safely in occupied buildings, read and follow maintenance plans, and contribute to the preparation and presentation of the city through on-the-job and off-the-job training during the apprenticeship.
