Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Hotel Operations Manager to join our engineering team as an Assistant Chief Engineer. This role requires a proactive individual who can lead and motivate a high-performing team to deliver exceptional results.

About the Role

The Assistant Chief Engineer will be responsible for coordinating preventive maintenance schedules, inspecting plant rooms, and ensuring all work orders are completed correctly. They will also lead and motivate the shift team, set service standards, provide feedback, and manage attendance and scheduling.

The successful candidate will have extensive experience in engineering or facilities management, ideally within a hospitality setting. They will possess a passion for leading and developing a high-performing team, with the ability to motivate and support their colleagues.

Responsibilities
  • Coordinates preventive maintenance schedules and ensures all work orders are performed and correctly recorded.
  • Leads and motivates the shift team, sets service standards, provides feedback, coaches employees, and manages attendance and scheduling.
  • Monitors the working condition of all mechanical and electrical plants during shifts, updating service reports and log books as necessary.
  • Conducts staff training and development, implements a multi-skills program, and ensures compliance with employee rules and regulations.
  • Assists with the Energy Conservation Programme, participates in environmental initiatives, and leads emergency response efforts, including fire fighting and FEAT team leadership when needed.
Requirements
  • Extensive experience in engineering or facilities management, ideally within a hospitality setting.
  • A passion for leading and developing a high-performing team, with the ability to motivate and support your colleagues.
  • Ability to handle physical tasks, including inspections and maintenance work, with precision and care.
  • A proactive approach to problem-solving and a keen eye for detail.
  • Availability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays, as needed to keep our hotel running smoothly.
