Job Summary:

 

The Strategic Facilities Operations Director will oversee the planning, direction, and execution of facilities management, construction projects, and services operations at Florida Tech. This role is responsible for maximizing asset value through effective management, planning, and scheduling of maintenance, cost-benefit analysis of staffing, training of personnel, equipment, and supply purchasing control, monitoring of energy management systems, and acting as an on-call expert on systems as required.

 

Main Responsibilities:

  • Facilities Management: Develop, implement, and evaluate programs and strategies to create and maintain safe, functional, secure, clean, and orderly facilities to ensure efficient and economical operation.
  • Construction Projects: Supervise and participate in the development and administration of facilities services and construction project budgets, monitor and approve expenditures as necessary.
  • Team Leadership: Select, train, motivate, and evaluate personnel, provide staff assistance to the Executive V.P., confer and advise professional staff regarding areas of responsibility and college-wide issues.
  • Contract Negotiation: Negotiate and administer contracts with outside vendors, architects, and others.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Review projects and contracts for compliance and take appropriate action to resolve discrepancies.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, or Facilities Management.
  • Minimum 10+ years of experience in facilities management and/or auxiliary services.
  • Knowledge of facility management principles, practices, and regulations.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents.
  • Effective communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.

 

Salary: Estimated $110,000 - $140,000 per annum, depending on qualifications and experience.
