Safety Leadership Role Overview

We are seeking a Safety Lead to join our team at the Melbourne Fresh Distribution Centre from August to December. This is a fixed-term opportunity with a strong focus on safety leadership, coaching, and technical support.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver timely, accurate, and quality-assured safety performance data to the business, including supporting external benchmarking activities and implementing policies and processes to minimize risks and achieve compliance.
  • Implement, monitor, maintain, and improve Safety & Health programs, systems, tools, and training to support compliance.
  • Monitor and identify actions resulting from the incident management review process.
  • Lead and support Operational Managers with positive strategies to promote a positive and resilient SH&E culture for all stakeholders and visitors.
  • Liaise with key stakeholders internally and externally in the event of an incident to share investigation outcomes, provide appropriate communication, prevent recurrence, and mitigate further liability.
  • Foster the value of inclusion of SH&E considerations and controls in all management processes to champion a safety culture and a safe working environment.

Requirements:

  • Formal qualifications in a related OH&S area.
  • Strong experience working in a hands-on role, with strong project and/or change management skills.
  • Comfort with working autonomously and independently.
  • Being consultative and creative in your approach to thinking about safety.
  • Excellent communication and relationship management skills.
  • A passion to learn, develop, and grow.
  • Advanced investigation training, and exposure to a DC / Supply Chain environment, desirable.
