Talent Focus is seeking an experienced Centre Director to lead their childcare centre in Eastern Suburbs of Melbourne. This leadership role is essential for creating a nurturing, supportive environment for both staff and children, as well as fostering strong community connections. The Centre Director will be responsible for managing daily centre operations, building and maintaining strong relationships with staff, families, and the broader community, and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and company values.

About the Centre

This beautiful, purpose-built centre spans two stories, featuring 9 classrooms, landscaped outdoor play spaces, interactive learning zones, a state-of-the-art kitchen, and a central piazza for collaborative activities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage daily centre operations
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with staff, families, and the broader community
  • Support staff in implementing a Reggio Emilia-inspired curriculum
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and uphold company values
  • Cultivate a positive and collaborative workplace culture
  • Advocate for child safety and positive learning outcomes for all children

Qualifications:

  • Diploma in Early Childhood Education or an equivalent qualification
  • Minimum of 4-5 years of experience in a Director or leadership role within a childcare centre
  • Profound knowledge of early childhood development and best practices in childcare
  • Proficiency in budgeting, rostering, and compliance documentation
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills
  • Familiarity with local and state childcare regulations and licensing requirements
  • Current First Aid and CPR certification (or willingness to obtain)
  • A strong passion for delivering high-quality early childhood education and care
  • Valid Working with Children Check (Employee) and mandatory reporting knowledge
