Support Therapist

We are seeking a dedicated Support Therapist to join our Child and Family Services team in Karratha.
Job DescriptionJob Type: Full-time
Work Arrangement: Rotating roster including mornings, afternoons, weekends, and overnights
The successful candidate will play a crucial role in assisting children and young people to fulfill their potential and achieve their goals through day-to-day provision of care, nurturing, and safety in our Out of Home Care Programme.
Key Responsibilities:- Meet the daily care needs of children and young people, including personal hygiene, health, medical, transportation, recreational, and educational support needs.
- Contribute to maintaining a quality care environment that is safe, clean, and personalized to each child or young person.
- Document events and developments related to the day-to-day provision of care on the child's or young person's journey with us.
- Ensure NDIS plans are accessible for children and young people while in our care.
- Utilize trauma-informed practices and supports in day-to-day care provision.
- Provide positive behavior support, therapeutic interventions, and safety to children and young people who may experience events of escalation and crisis.
- Encourage social engagement, recreation, and community involvement opportunities.
- Collaborate with the care team to develop and implement individualized support plans.
- Advocate for the rights and needs of children and young people.
- A current paid Working With Children Check
- A national police check
- A valid driver's license
- A suitable minimum qualification, lived experience, or eligibility for a traineeship
