Support Therapist for Out-of-Home Care

We are seeking a dedicated Support Therapist to join our care team at Lifestyle Solutions. As a valued member of our team, you will play a crucial role in providing therapeutic interventions aimed at addressing the unique needs of each child or young person we care for.
Our care team members work collaboratively to provide tailored support that helps children and young people overcome trauma and build resilience on their journey to adulthood in Out of Home Care.
The Role:
- You will be responsible for meeting the daily care needs of the children and young people, including personal hygiene, health and well-being, medical, transportation, recreational and educational support needs.
- Contribute to maintaining a quality care environment that is safe, clean, and personalized to those who live there.
- Accurately document events and developments related to the day-to-day provision of care on the child or young person's journey with us.
- Ensure children and young people's NDIS plans are accessible while in our care.
- Utilize trauma-informed practices and supports in day-to-day care provision.
- Provide positive behavior support, therapeutic interventions, and safety to children and young people who may experience escalation and crisis.
- Cultivate opportunities for social engagement, recreation, and community involvement.
- Collaborate with the care team to develop and implement individualized support plans.
- Advocate for the rights and needs of the children and young people.
About You:
We are looking for individuals with a passion for helping children and young people heal and grow through understanding and support. If you have experience working with individuals with disabilities and complex support needs, this could be the perfect opportunity for you.
You should have availability to suit a rotating roster that includes mornings, afternoons, weekends, and overnights. Essential qualifications include a current paid Working With Children Check, National Police Check, valid driver's license, and suitable minimum qualification.
