Child and Adolescent Mental Health Specialist

  • Role Overview:
  • We are seeking a highly skilled mental health professional to deliver comprehensive care to children and adolescents with complex needs in our rural and regional communities.
About the Role:

  2. Deliver holistic, person-centred and trauma-informed care to meet individual needs
  3. Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams for comprehensive assessment and planning
Main Responsibilities:
  1. Key Activities:
  2. Detailed therapeutic engagement with children and adolescents experiencing or at risk of severe mental illness
  3. Early intervention through integrated service models for improved experience of care
  4. Prevention of unnecessary hospitalisations through timely access to clinical care
  5. Multidisciplinary collaboration for multi-agency care plans
  6. Support for families and carers of children and adolescents with severe mental illness
Prioritised Populations:
  • School-aged children and adolescents from Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander backgrounds
  • Culturally and linguistically diverse children and adolescents
  • LGBTIQ+ children and adolescents
  • Children and adolescents from disadvantaged social and economic backgrounds
  • Children and adolescents at risk of withdrawing from education or employment
  • Children and adolescents who have experienced trauma
  • Children and adolescents at risk of hospitalisation
