Join Our Team as a Child and Adolescent Therapist at Riverina Psychology
Are you a compassionate and skilled professional looking for a truly unique place to do the work you love? We invite you to join our team at Riverina Psychology, a well-established practice dedicated to delivering reliable, evidence-based psychology assessments and therapy services across the lifespan. We are excited to enhance our existing team with a dedicated Child and Adolescent Therapist.
Why Join Riverina Psychology?
This is more than just a job; it''s a chance to be part of an exceptional team that is genuinely invested in your professional and personal well-being. We believe in tailoring your role to your interests, skills, and aspirations, with the flexibility to consult on the days and hours that suit your optimal work-life balance. We are ideally seeking a full-time therapist and are pleased to offer a guaranteed salary for this position, providing you with stability and security.
When you join us, you will spend your work time with a supportive team committed to clinical excellence and positive change. We will fully support your growth as a practitioner, provide as much role diversity as you desire, and offer opportunities to step into leadership roles if and when you choose.
Our Supportive Environment and ResourcesOur beautiful practice is conveniently located in central Wagga, near the Victory Memorial Gardens and Wollundry Lagoon. Our space is warm, welcoming, and thoughtfully equipped to help you do your best work.

- A Well-Stocked Clinic: You will have access to a comprehensive test library, a dedicated, large play therapy room with plenty of resources, and other materials to support your clinical practice.
- Streamlined Technology: We provide effective practice management software and utilise technology where appropriate to support efficient record-keeping and test scoring, allowing you to focus on your clients.
- Therapy Dogs: As a unique bonus, our team includes two trained therapy dogs who work with us on weekdays
This is a full-time, salaried position with a monthly Rostered Day Off (RDO) for full-time staff. You will provide compassionate, evidence-based mental health services to young clients and their families. This includes conducting assessments, developing treatment plans, and delivering therapeutic interventions to help children and adolescents navigate emotional, behavioural, and developmental challenges. Please note that this role does not involve NDIS behaviour support.
QualificationsWe are seeking applicants who are eligible to deliver services under Mental Health Care Plans, including:
- Psychologist
- Occupational Therapist with mental health accreditation

We also welcome applicants with formal counselling qualifications and current registration with either ACA or PACFA.
Burnout Prevention & Work/Life BalanceOur proactive approach is at the core of our practice.
- Protected Clinical Time: We cap daily appointments at a maximum of 5 to 6, depending on your contracted hours, to ensure you have ample time and energy for each client.
- No Work Outside of Hours: Your day is structured to allow dedicated time to complete all case notes and reports, so you never have to take work home. For psychological assessments, therapy timeslots are removed from your calendar to ensure all report writing is completed within your standard working hours. We also have a strict "no emails after hours" policy.
- Built-in Rest and Recharge: All full-time employees are allocated a monthly Rostered Day Off (RDO). We also offer flexible hours and bonus leave to support your optimal work-life balance.
Your professional development is our top priority.
- We provide weekly individual supervision to discuss cases and monitor your well-being as a clinician.
- We facilitate weekly clinical team meetings and group reflective practice to foster peer collaboration and shared learning.
- You will receive internal training and mentoring, as well as 5 paid days of leave for external training each year to pursue your interests.
We are committed to providing a nurturing environment where you feel fully supported.
- You will benefit from high-level administrative support to handle all non-clinical tasks, allowing you to focus on client care.
- You will have access to an independent EAP counselling service with a telehealth psychologist to ensure local privacy and confidentiality.
- Our two trained therapy dogs also attend the office on their own rostered schedules, bringing a unique sense of calm and companionship to our workplace.
We are passionate about the important work we do, and we can''t wait to welcome you aboard.
