
Substance Abuse Specialist

This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled professional to join our team as a Drug and Alcohol Clinician. In this role, you will be responsible for delivering holistic, person-centred and trauma-informed care to children and adolescents with complex mental health needs.
The successful applicant will work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to assess, plan and deliver comprehensive mental health care to the regional community of Temora and surrounds.
- Successful therapeutic engagement with children and adolescents experiencing or at risk of developing severe mental illness.
- Better experience of care through integrated and coordinated service models.
- Prevention of unnecessary hospitalisations through timely access to appropriate and targeted clinical care.
- Active use of a multiagency care plan for the child or young person with, or at risk of, severe and complex mental illness.
- Improved support for families and carers of children and adolescents experiencing severe mental illness.
- Deliver high-quality care that meets the unique needs of each client.
- Work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals to achieve optimal outcomes.
- Maintain accurate records and contribute to quality improvement initiatives.
- Develop and implement effective treatment plans that address the complex needs of clients.
- Provide education and support to families and carers to enhance their ability to provide care and support.
- Be a qualified and experienced clinician with a strong background in working with children and adolescents.
- Demonstrate a high level of professionalism, empathy and cultural sensitivity.
- Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal.
- Be able to work independently and as part of a team, with minimal supervision.
- Hold a current Working With Children Check (WWCC) and/or Police Clearance.
