Therapeutic Counselling Role

This specialist position provides critical support to children, young people and their families affected by physical abuse, emotional abuse, neglect and/or domestic violence.

The role involves maintaining the child or young person in their family where possible, with the intention of preventing recurrence of abuse, placement breakdown, and addressing the impacts and effects of abuse and neglect.

Key responsibilities include therapeutic counselling, coordination of health service delivery, advocacy for client interests and consultation, support and education for healthcare workers on child protection issues.

This complex role requires a strong understanding of child protection principles and practices, as well as excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Successful candidates will have experience working with vulnerable populations, a strong commitment to delivering high-quality services, and a passion for making a positive impact on the lives of children and families.
