Senior Academic Leader in Structural Engineering

We are seeking a highly accomplished Professor to lead our Structural Engineering discipline and contribute to the strategic direction of the School of Engineering at RMIT University.
The successful candidate will have a strong research track record in Structural Engineering, with a proven ability to attract and supervise higher degree by research candidates. They will also have experience in managing award programs, leading program reviews, and implementing best practice teaching strategies.
The Professor will be responsible for developing and leading research project teams and programs, fostering a vibrant research culture, and promoting strong academic performance. They will also contribute to teaching and learning in the Structural Engineering discipline, with a focus on improving learning outcomes for students.
The ideal candidate will have a PhD in a relevant field, demonstrated strategic leadership in a large organisational unit or University-wide initiative, and effective membership of a management team that developed and achieved shared goals and objectives.
They will also have experience in financial, governance, and quality management systems within a University, as well as high-level interpersonal, communication, and negotiating skills.
The successful candidate will be required to pass a Working with Children and National Police Check.
