As a senior academic leader, you will be responsible for providing strategic direction and vision for the discipline, driving research excellence, and fostering a culture of innovation and collaboration.
Key Responsibilities- Lead and manage research projects and programs, developing and implementing strategies to achieve research excellence and impact.
- Teach and contribute to the development of undergraduate and postgraduate programs in Structural Engineering, ensuring high-quality learning outcomes for students.
- Contribute to the planning and strategic direction of the School of Engineering, participating in various committees and working groups to drive academic excellence and innovation.
- Develop and maintain strong research networks and partnerships with industry, government, and other academic institutions, securing funding and resources to support research and teaching initiatives.
- Provide leadership and guidance to junior academics and researchers, mentoring and developing their skills and expertise.
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends and developments, applying knowledge and expertise to inform teaching, research, and professional practice.
- PhD in a relevant field, with a strong research track record and expertise in Structural Engineering.
- Proven ability to lead and manage research projects and programs, securing funding and resources to support research initiatives.
- Excellent teaching and communication skills, with experience in developing and delivering high-quality learning materials and programs.
- Strong leadership and management skills, with experience in leading and managing teams, and contributing to strategic planning and decision-making.
- Ability to work collaboratively and build strong relationships with colleagues, industry partners, and other stakeholders.
