Post-School Options Specialist

The Post-School Options Specialist plays a crucial role in student-centred personalised transition planning for high priority cohort students.

About the Role:
  • Collaborate with students, parents and external stakeholders to ensure seamless transitions beyond school.
  • Demonstrate an understanding of VET frameworks and collaborate with the VET team to facilitate access and participation in successful pathways post-school.
  • Develop, implement, monitor and evaluate skills training and interventions for students to set them up for success post-school.
  • Work closely with teachers and leaders to design and implement Learning, Wellbeing and Inclusion frameworks to improve learning outcomes for students with diverse learning needs.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of Student Support initiatives using the Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) to develop whole school processes improving student outcomes.
  • Mentor and collaborate with school leaders and teachers to enhance professional learning and develop capability to execute effective learning interventions.
  • Systematically conduct risk assessments and management plans to ensure students can access and participate in relevant opportunities.
  • Collaborate with school teams to promote partnerships with parents, carers and the wider community.
Key Qualifications:
  • Tertiary qualification in Education.
  • Working with Children Check clearance.
  • Teacher accreditation at proficient level or higher.
  • A full, valid driver's licence and access to a reliable vehicle.
  • Demonstrated experience implementing programmes and strategies responsive to the wellbeing and learning needs of students, increasing their engagement.
  • Experience working with external service providers for successful transition to work readiness programs and community participation.
