About the office

The Student Life team plays a vital role in helping students transition into university and engage fully in campus life. We collaborate closely with students to deliver programs and initiatives that foster a vibrant, inclusive, and connected community across all campuses.

About the role

This position is responsible for delivering a broad range of student services and activities that enrich student life at the University. With a strong focus on supporting international students, the role plays a key part in fostering an inclusive, engaging, and supportive campus experience.Key Responsibilities
  • Facilitate engaging online and on-campus student activities across campuses, including training volunteers and managing event logistics.
  • Coordinate targeted initiatives for priority student groups, especially international students, to support their transition and engagement.
  • Build connections between students, staff, and the wider community to foster a sense of belonging and inclusion.
  • Oversee student-led events, including onboarding, training, and supervising casual staff.
  • Collaborate with faculties and university offices to ensure effective communication and escalate sensitive student wellbeing matters.
  • Support financial planning and budget management for Student Life programs, including processing payments and liaising with suppliers.
Qualifications, skills & experience
  • Relevant tertiary qualification and/or extensive experience in a similar student engagement or support role.
  • Strong understanding of university policies, procedures, and legislative standards, with the ability to apply them effectively.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and customer service skills to engage diverse internal and external stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to manage time, adapt to changing priorities, and handle multiple tasks efficiently.
  • Sound knowledge of current issues and trends in the higher education sector.
