About the Role:

The role entails undertaking assessments and preparing high-quality documentation in compliance with legislative requirements to initiate proceedings, assess submissions, recommend outcomes and make determinations.

  • Reviewing briefs of evidence and submissions to make recommendations for disciplinary action.
  • Preparing and reviewing notices to show cause and decisions regarding whether to take disciplinary action.
  • Providing instructions to legal professionals and counsel in matters that are appealed to external tribunals, including reviewing section 58 documents, written submissions and other relevant evidence.
  • Collaborating with internal and external stakeholders, including investigators, inspectors, legal professionals, counsel and executive members.
  • Supervising and managing a small team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • To be successful in this role, you will require relevant qualifications in law or policy and/or relevant experience in regulatory environments.
  • A sound understanding of investigation strategies, including the rules of evidence, and procedural fairness.
  • High-level analytical, organisational and written communication skills.
  • The ability to manage competing priorities and make informed decisions.

Necessary Qualifications and Skills:

In order to excel in this position, applicants should possess relevant qualifications in law or policy, or have relevant experience in regulatory environments. A sound understanding of investigation strategies, including the rules of evidence and procedural fairness, is also essential.
