Randstad, a leading provider of employment services, is partnering with a government department to create a sustainable and healthy South Australia.

The organization has under 200 employees in South Australia, with a payroll that is primarily processed fortnightly and some monthly. This role offers flexibility, allowing for 1-2 days of work from home each week, and an office conveniently located in Adelaide CBD.

About the Job

This position is responsible for front-end payroll, as the actual payroll processing is handled by an appointed vendor.

  • Key duties include software and systems management: Timesheet data entry, accurate interpretation of digital timesheets, and relevant payroll-related activities for fortnightly and monthly paid employees.
  • Paying particular attention to accuracy, you will review and distribute all fortnightly payslips to employees on time.
  • Calculate payroll data, incorporating overtime, penalties, leave entitlements, allowances, and deductions.
  • Ensure error-free reconciliation by identifying and correcting errors before final processing.
  • Manage leave applications and prepare associated reporting.
  • Understand and apply EBA provisions, awards, legislation, contract terms, and tax regulations.
About the Team

This role reports directly to the People and Culture Manager, based in Adelaide.

The position is a newly created permanent headcount resulting from a promotion within the existing payroll team.

Requirements and Skills

To succeed in this role, you must have a minimum of 5 years of payroll experience.

Advanced Excel skills are essential, and expertise with time and attendance systems is critical.

A 'can-do' attitude and genuine desire to improve processes and systems are also required.

You should be well-organized, meticulous, and possess excellent problem-solving skills.

Estimated Salary

We estimate the annual salary for this position to be around $80,000-$100,000 AUD, depending on experience and qualifications.
