About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Mental Health Specialist to join our team in Katherine. As a Child and Family Wellbeing Worker, you will deliver strength-based case management and activities to children, young people, and families in line with program guidelines.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide outreach support to assist in the development and implementation of participant-centred Family Action Plans.
  • Assist in establishing good referral pathways, into and out of the service, to reach vulnerable children, young people, and families who may not otherwise engage with the mental health or children's service sector.
  • Under the direction of the Team Leader, provide education, training, and information to promote awareness of mental health to participants of the program and the community.
Requirements
  • Diploma or Certificate level qualification in a relevant health or welfare discipline.
  • Demonstrated experience in working with children, young people, and families, including Indigenous and Culturally and Linguistically diverse (CALD) people.
  • Demonstrated understanding and application of a strength-based approach and competence in a range of interventions relevant to children and young people.
  • Demonstrated ability to build relationships and communicate effectively with key stakeholders, including participants, community members, and other services.
  • Experience in delivering education to young people.

We offer a competitive salary package, above award conditions, including 5 weeks annual leave, salary packaging, and a friendly and flexible work environment. The successful applicant will also receive an attractive salary package commensurate with qualifications and experience.

The estimated salary for this role is around $80,000 - $100,000 per annum, depending on experience.
