Administrative Support Role
Theatre Administration and Bookings ClerkThis position offers the opportunity to provide high-level administrative support to a theatre team.
The successful candidate will play a crucial role in the day-to-day running of the theatre department, ensuring efficient management of the operating theatre schedule. Comprehensive on-the-job training will be provided by the current team member in this role to ensure a smooth transition into the position.
Key Responsibilities:- Coordination of the theatre schedule, including entering patients onto the lists via electronic systems and managing surgeon leave
- Meeting deadlines with data entry for theatre utilisation
- Managing incoming and outgoing communications, including phone calls from surgeons' rooms and staff
- Working alongside medical professionals, colleagues, patients, and visitors to deliver an exceptional patient experience
- Ordering stationery items and distributing them as required
- Scanning theatre sheets
- Liaising with doctors and surgeons' rooms to obtain missing item numbers
- Providing high-level administrative support to the Perioperative Services Manager
To succeed in this role, you must have excellent attention to detail and previous experience in a medical administration position. The standard working hours are Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM, although some flexibility may be available.
This is a permanent full-time position; however, we are open to considering two permanent part-time roles for the right candidates. Please indicate your preference in your application.
- Intermediate to advanced proficiency in using Microsoft Office, with the ability to maintain accurate data entry
- Excellent time management skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively
- Prior experience in a theatre bookings or surgical/medical administration role (desirable)
- Certificate in Medical Terminology (desirable)
- Familiarity with electronic systems (desirable)
