McCall Services is dedicated to delivering high-quality, individually supportive services for people with a disability. Our services include supported accommodation, short-term accommodation, community participation, and support coordination in various settings across Northwest Sydney.

The School Leaver Employment Supports (SLES) program is an early intervention approach designed to support the transition of Year 12 school leavers from education to employment.

As a SLES Program Facilitator, you will play a vital role in helping participants achieve their employment goals by providing meaningful, individualized capacity-building activities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide support and mentoring to participants to encourage competence and independence in achieving employment and training goals.
  • Coordinate WH&S policies and practices to ensure equitable and inclusive practices.
  • Utilize communication and research skills to market and promote our program to relevant organizations, teachers, coordinators, and stakeholders.
  • Support participants on personal development according to individual needs.
  • Lead staff to ensure the smooth integration of the SLES and community programs.
  • Generate and optimize appropriate work experience opportunities for participants.
  • Provide onsite and external support during work experiences to increase understanding of workplace expectations and behaviors.
  • Develop and implement participant plans to prepare for employment via identification of support requirements, facilitating skills development opportunities, and liaising with community members and participant networks.
  • Assist in the development of a suitable and effective SLES program, ensuring achievement of program goals and criteria through constant review, evaluation, and improvement.

Requirements:

  • Experience in providing quality care services, implementing behavioral strategy supports, and building rapport with participants.
  • Passion for supporting people with a disability in an inclusive way that meets individual needs.
  • Effective communication skills with proven experience in managing diverse teams in the community sector.
  • Strategic thinking about improving services and contributing to positive changes.
  • Ability to adapt to various situations.

Essential Skills and Experience:

  • Previous experience in a SLES/employment consultant role.
  • Experience in training and facilitation.
  • Business, admin, hospitality, and retail experience a bonus.
  • Comfortable delivering programs according to provided plans.
  • Interest in educating participants to increase capacity and employment readiness.
  • Solid problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work autonomously.
  • Experience supporting participants with challenging behaviors, demonstrated knowledge of implementing Behavior Support Plans.
  • Knowledge and experience working with young people.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a team.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Certificate IV in Disability and related training and/or qualifications.
  • Experience in Social Welfare or relevant industry experience.
  • Valid NSW Working with Children's Check.
  • Valid NDIS Worker Screening Check.
  • Current FULL Drivers License.
  • NDIS Worker Orientation Module.
