The Claims Officer position entails overseeing the claims process from inception to completion, ensuring timely and accurate validation of claims.
- Efficiently manage the claims lifecycle, guaranteeing adherence to company policies and procedures.
- Interpret policy terms and conditions, identifying coverage for submitted claims and escalating complex issues as necessary.
- Maintain effective relationships with insureds, brokers, investigators, solicitors, and the public through professional communication and correspondence.
- Ensure compliance with relevant statutory guidelines and industry standards.
Key responsibilities include:
- Proactive management of a portfolio of sensitive and confidential liability claims.
- Initiation and completion of recoveries from third parties, maximizing claim outcomes.
- Regular self-audit of claims files to ensure positive internal audits and quality assurance.
- Response to enquiries in an accurate, timely, professional, and courteous manner within privacy guidelines.
A strong technical background in claims handling and expertise in managing complex bodily injury claims is preferred.
The ideal candidate will possess a solid understanding of underwriting principles and policy wordings across various liability portfolios.
They should be skilled in engaging and collaborating with external partners, such as loss adjusters, lawyers, and consultants, to achieve mutually beneficial outcomes.
Effective relationship-building with clients and customers, maintaining confidentiality and resilience, is essential for success in this role.
