**About the Opportunity**
We are seeking a highly skilled Claims Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality claims services and supporting our stakeholders.
The successful candidate will have a strong technical expertise and attention to detail, enabling them to provide sound advice on decision making and claims management activities. They will also possess excellent communication and organisational skills, allowing them to build and maintain trusting relationships with their stakeholders.
**Key Responsibilities**
- Oversee and manage referrals into our fraud pilot initiative
- Provide expert advice on decision making and claims management activities at both case level and system-wide claims management
- Investigate and research effective procedures to achieve optimal cost savings in claims management
- Partner with stakeholders across our organisation to deliver key project milestones for strategic priorities and strategy programs
- Provide expert technical advice to senior management on issues, initiatives, and trends relating to claims management
- Liaise with senior management and other personnel, external organisations, and relevant groups or individuals to implement claims management initiatives
**Requirements**
- 5+ years' experience as a Workers Compensation Claims specialist
- Strong technical expertise and attention to detail
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
- Thorough knowledge and understanding of principles and operation of WIRC (2013) and Accident Compensation Act 1985
- Recognised expertise in injury claims case management at a claim by claim level, particularly in respect to Workers Compensation claims
- Ability to forensically analyse data and develop strategies to prevent and respond to worker fraud
- Demonstrated ability to design, develop, and implement multi-faceted programs/systems/procedures
- Expert level of knowledge of entitlement to compensation
**Benefits**
This is a full-time, 12-month fixed-term opportunity based in Geelong or Melbourne. You will be required to work from home three days a week and in the office two days a week.
