Overview
The Senior Claims Specialist will manage a caseload and the interventions required to ensure multifaceted cases achieve the best possible recovery and return-to-work outcomes. You will apply your advanced claims handling, injury and return-to-work management skills, together with exceptional stakeholder management to achieve optimal outcomes for injured workers, employers and DXC. You recognise that you play an integral role in delivering a critical service that will have a significant impact on the lives of our injured workers. You will also mentor case managers through development activities to provide strategic and operational support as required.
Responsibilities- Apply advanced claims handling, injury and return-to-work management skills with strong stakeholder management to achieve optimal outcomes for injured workers, employers and DXC.
- Apply a strategic, proactive and innovative approach to case management.
- Prepare for, attend and actively participate in claims reviews and clinical case conferences to facilitate outcomes for injured workers.
- Evaluate recovery and liability aspects relevant to the Victorian workers' compensation scheme while completing ongoing entitlement and payment reviews.
- Provide guidance and support to claims teams with interpretation of complex claims scenarios and strategies to deliver timely, multi-layered interventions.
- Deliver face-to-face claims management support to injured workers, employers and relevant stakeholders as required to deliver successful return-to-work outcomes.
- Lead and deliver cohort-based claims strategies at Team, Practice Group and DXC levels.
- Take on lead claims management responsibility for platinum and complex customers.
- Lead portfolio responsibilities to support delivery of specific contractual obligations.

- Significant claims management experience in the Victorian workers' compensation scheme
- Knowledge of medical and paramedical terminology and procedures, including forms of treatment applicable to injuries
- Strong working knowledge of the Workplace Injury and Rehabilitation Act 2015 and associated regulations
- Intermediate to advanced knowledge of ACCtion and Novus
