Mission Australia's Transition to Work program is dedicated to providing tailored support to individuals who have faced challenges in their educational or professional journey. As a valued team member, you will collaborate closely with experienced youth employment specialists to deliver a holistic approach, focusing on the social and emotional wellbeing of your clients.
Key Responsibilities:
- Promote sustained engagement and connection of youth through outreach, drop-in and non-structured interactions.
- Ensure young people are equipped with practical tools to participate and feel valued in their future endeavors.
- Develop, implement and evaluate group work sessions and provide customized support to clients.
- Accurately record information in management files for all clients in accordance with Mission Australia protocols.
- Proactively identify concerns that impact the safety and wellbeing of children and young people engaging with our services.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives to ensure the quality of the program evolves.
Requirements for Success:
- Tertiary qualifications in community services or a related field are highly desirable.
- Experience in community services, youth services, workforce development or case management is highly beneficial.
- Expertise in career counselling and social & emotional wellbeing support.
- Ability to build connections and stay informed about local services that can aid participants in overcoming barriers to employment.
- Detailed written skills and the ability to present information and comprehensive case notes clearly and concisely.
- A proven track record in achieving key performance indicators; demonstrating resilience and self-awareness.
- Experience working with vulnerable populations and/or young people with complex needs.
- Familiarity with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultural systems and protocols would be advantageous.
- Resilience, self-awareness and the ability to manage personal development and wellness.
- A current NSW driver's license is required.
