We are seeking a dedicated and innovative Health Equity Specialist to join our dynamic team. As a key member of our organization, you will play a vital role in supporting health equity reform at Children's Health Queensland Hospital and Health Service.
About the Role:
This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is passionate about achieving positive outcomes and experiences for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children and young people and their families/carers. You will be responsible for implementing new ways of working, designing and developing the CHQ HHS Health Equity Strategy and Implementation Plan, and collaborating with stakeholders to build strong relationships with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Strategy Development: Design, develop, and implement the CHQ HHS Health Equity Strategy and Implementation Plan, ensuring it aligns with the organization's goals and objectives.
- Community Engagement: Communicate effectively with a broad range of stakeholders and develop, nurture, and maintain strong relationships with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities, promoting cultural sensitivity and awareness.
- Process Co-design: Co-design and co-implement processes with stakeholders as stipulated by the Hospital and Health Boards (Health Equity Strategies) Amendment Regulation 2021, fostering collaboration and partnership.
- Progress Monitoring: Develop and maintain approaches to plan and monitor the progress of the Health Equity Strategy's development and implementation, providing regular updates and insights.
- Documentation: Assist in developing, informing, and writing documentation including briefs, project plans, reports, annual reviews, and evaluation, ensuring accuracy and quality.
- Reporting: Prepare reports and papers for the Health Equity Strategy Steering Committee, Executive Leadership Team, Board, and community, presenting findings and recommendations.
- Secretariat Support: Provide secretariat support and progress meeting actions for the Health Equity Strategy Steering Committee, ensuring efficient communication and decision-making.
- Data Analysis: Review and present relevant data to inform continuous quality improvement, identifying trends and areas for improvement.
