Indigenous Program Coordinator
About the RoleThe Indigenous Program Coordinator plays a vital role in providing culturally sensitive and clinically appropriate care for Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander children and young people. This includes working as part of a multidisciplinary team to deliver co-case management, care coordination, intake assessments, interventions, and cultural support.
Key Responsibilities- Deliver evidence-based health assessments, health promotion, education, and illness prevention activities within a Social and Emotional Well-being framework.
- Communicate sensitively with individuals from diverse cultural backgrounds while advocating on behalf of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
- Work effectively with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples within a health-related context, with a clear understanding of contemporary culture, protocols, and health procedures.
- Vaccinated against certain vaccine-preventable diseases.
- Diploma in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Primary Health Care or relevant qualification.
