About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Court Triage and Housing Worker to join our team at The Salvation Army. As a key member of our Homelessness Stream, you will play a critical role in supporting individuals at risk of homelessness and re-offending.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess and address the immediate and long-term housing needs of service users referred from Court Services Victoria.
  • Connect service users to appropriate housing options and advocate on their behalf to access support services and establish meaningful community supports.
  • Develop and implement individual case plans, monitoring and reviewing progress towards goals.
  • Provide trauma-informed outreach and case management to clients referred from Court Services Victoria.
  • Establish and maintain positive relationships with Court Services Victoria, THM, and head-leasing providers.
Requirements
  • Tertiary qualification in Social Work or a related community service field.
  • Current and valid Victorian Employee Working with Children Check.
  • Current First Aid Certificate.
  • Current Victorian Driver's licence.
  • Ability to understand and respond to the needs of individuals experiencing homelessness or at risk of homelessness.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of the homelessness sector, including role, context, principles, philosophies, policies, regulation, and legislation.
  • Experience working with a range of stakeholders and networks.
