Workforce Development Opportunity

A key role exists within a division focused on building and sustaining the science and technology workforce in Defence.

The successful candidate will have a proven ability to monitor changes in external Science and Technology (S&T) workforces to understand future workforce demands and supply challenges. They will evaluate and report against the Brilliant People, Collaborative Culture pillar of the More, together: Defence Science and Technology 2030 Strategy.

Responsibilities include preparing reports on workforce capability activities, including progressing learning and development initiatives to meet S&T workforce capability planning objectives. Additionally, the individual will provide advice and analysis on S&T development and assist in the development and implementation of strategic workforce plans.

The ideal person will possess strong written and verbal communication skills, analytical skills, and the ability to develop high-quality stakeholder communications. Some interstate travel may be required.

The ideal candidate will have experience in strategic planning, team collaboration, research work, and analysis. They will also have excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to build and maintain productive relationships within Defence, academia, and other government agencies.
