About Future Fund Management Agency

We are Australia's Sovereign Wealth Fund, managing over $290 billion across seven public asset funds. Our mission is to grow Australia's future by investing in opportunities that will benefit the country for generations to come.

We're a global investor, working closely with world-leading investment organisations to access the best ideas. Our approach is pure: we think deeply about our investments and make informed decisions every day.

Our culture values collaboration, innovation, and service excellence. We believe every person, skillset, and mindset is an asset, and we want everyone to feel comfortable bringing their authentic selves to work.

As a forward-thinking organisation, we're committed to creating value for Australia. We're not just investors – we're creators of a brighter future.

The Opportunity

We're seeking an experienced procurement professional to lead our centralised procurement function. This strategic role will drive value creation, innovation, and operational excellence across the entire procurement lifecycle, aligning activities with organisational goals and ensuring supply chain resilience.

The ideal candidate will have proven leadership experience in managing high-performing procurement teams, exceptional problem-solving skills, and expertise in strategic sourcing, contract management, and risk mitigation. A commitment to supplier diversity and sustainability, coupled with the ability to leverage technology and data analytics to enhance performance, is essential.

Key Responsibilities

This includes establishing and maintaining a robust procurement framework, policies, and tools while communicating these effectively across the organisation to build awareness and support.

You will oversee governance and compliance, ensuring all procurement activities adhere to the Commonwealth Procurement Rules (CPRs) and other legislative obligations. By establishing governance frameworks, ethical standards, and performance indicators, you will ensure transparency, accountability, and adherence to best practices.

Your role will also focus on developing and executing procurement strategies that drive value, efficiency, and innovation. You will manage end-to-end procurement projects, oversee supplier relationships to ensure contract compliance and quality standards, and monitor market trends to identify cost-saving opportunities.

Building strong stakeholder relationships is critical to the success of this role. You will act as a trusted advisor to internal teams, providing strategic procurement advice and delivering tailored solutions. Additionally, you will enhance the efficiency and responsiveness of procurement services, ensure effective communication of the team's capabilities, and foster collaborative partnerships both internally and with external organisations.

About You

The ideal candidate for Director, Procurement will hold a professional qualification in procurement (e.g., CIPS or WorldCC) and a relevant bachelor's degree in finance, business, or a related field, or equivalent experience. They will bring a proven track record of leadership in procurement, including managing high-performing teams, influencing senior stakeholders, and delivering functional strategies.

To excel in this role, the candidate must demonstrate expertise in developing procurement frameworks, policies, and methodologies, with a focus on continuous improvement and innovation. They will have strong advisory and consultative skills, providing procurement guidance at all levels, and the ability to navigate complex, multi-stakeholder environments.

Key competencies include outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, enabling collaboration and meaningful relationships across diverse internal and external stakeholders. The candidate should exhibit strategic thinking, a results-driven approach, and a commitment to excellence, quality, and accountability.
