
Strategic Aboriginal Workforce Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Program Officer to join our team on a full-time ongoing basis. As a Program Officer, you will contribute to the development, implementation and evaluation of strategies, policies and programs relating to the Aboriginal workforce.
The successful candidate will have experience in reviewing existing work practices, systems and procedures in pursuit of best practice opportunities. They will also possess high level communication skills with the ability to communicate with a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities- Contributing to the development, implementation and evaluation of strategies, policies and programs relating to the Aboriginal workforce.
- Supporting the development of cultural support and mentoring initiatives.
- Providing advice to relevant stakeholders in matters pertaining to Aboriginal Employment.
- Facilitating the identification of roles suitable for pool recruitment, advertising and selection processes within the department.
- Coordinating the administration and recruitment of Aboriginal Traineeship and Cadetship programs.
To be successful in this role, you will require:
- High level communication skills with the ability to communicate with a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders.
- Experience in reviewing existing work practices, systems and procedures in pursuit of best practice opportunities.
- Proficiency in analysing and solving complex problems whilst displaying initiative.
- High level of IT skills to develop briefing papers and written reports.
- The ability to engage with Aboriginal staff, organisations and community to develop and maintain effective networks.
