Job Title: Operations Coordinator Specialist

About the Role

The role of Operations Coordinator Specialist is a critical position within a local government, responsible for ensuring the seamless delivery of disaster recovery projects. The successful candidate will have a strong focus on community needs and exceptional customer service skills.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage close-outs and maintain compliance with quality assurance reporting requirements.
  • Handle audit queries and provide accurate information.
  • Complete annual leave requirements and ensure all necessary documentation is up to date.
  • Oversee safety aspects and ensure compliance with work health and safety standards.
  • Conduct site inspections to verify compliance with project requirements.
  • Liaise with construction teams to ensure the locating and usage of approved gravel pits.
  • Maintain and collate records of gravel, water and spoil usage.
  • Identify and obtain required permits and approvals for new and renewed quarries and pits.
  • Prepare and manage procurement activities including tendering for resources.
  • Assist in the management of engineering projects with overlapping scope for disaster recovery works.
  • Perform road pick-ups, inspections and supervision of disaster recovery works as required.

Requirements

  • Tertiary qualifications or proven professional experience in civil construction operations.
  • Experience in disaster recovery processes (preferred but willing to train the right candidate).
  • Proven leadership style resulting in a high-performing team.
  • Knowledge in compliance, legislation, safety, risk and contract administration.
  • Able to build professional relationships and provide high-level customer service at all times.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Highly developed organisational skills.
  • Able to critically analyse issues and develop appropriate solutions.
  • High level of computer literacy and computer application experience.
  • A valid QLD C Class Driver's Licence.
