Job Title: Operations Coordinator Specialist
About the RoleThe role of Operations Coordinator Specialist is a critical position within a local government, responsible for ensuring the seamless delivery of disaster recovery projects. The successful candidate will have a strong focus on community needs and exceptional customer service skills.
Key Responsibilities- Manage close-outs and maintain compliance with quality assurance reporting requirements.
- Handle audit queries and provide accurate information.
- Complete annual leave requirements and ensure all necessary documentation is up to date.
- Oversee safety aspects and ensure compliance with work health and safety standards.
- Conduct site inspections to verify compliance with project requirements.
- Liaise with construction teams to ensure the locating and usage of approved gravel pits.
- Maintain and collate records of gravel, water and spoil usage.
- Identify and obtain required permits and approvals for new and renewed quarries and pits.
- Prepare and manage procurement activities including tendering for resources.
- Assist in the management of engineering projects with overlapping scope for disaster recovery works.
- Perform road pick-ups, inspections and supervision of disaster recovery works as required.
Requirements
- Tertiary qualifications or proven professional experience in civil construction operations.
- Experience in disaster recovery processes (preferred but willing to train the right candidate).
- Proven leadership style resulting in a high-performing team.
- Knowledge in compliance, legislation, safety, risk and contract administration.
- Able to build professional relationships and provide high-level customer service at all times.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- Highly developed organisational skills.
- Able to critically analyse issues and develop appropriate solutions.
- High level of computer literacy and computer application experience.
- A valid QLD C Class Driver's Licence.
