About the Role:

This Administrative Support Specialist position plays a vital role in supporting our local Corps (churches and community hubs) across South Australia. The successful candidate will ensure our services and community efforts run smoothly, efficiently, and in line with policies and procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supporting Corps Officers with administrative tasks during staff and volunteer onboarding, ensuring seamless integration into our teams.

  • Coordinating volunteer training to meet mandatory safety and compliance standards, maintaining high levels of quality and consistency.

  • Maintaining accurate and up-to-date volunteer records, guaranteeing compliance requirements are met at all times.

  • Processing invoices, reimbursements, and managing asset registers with precision and attention to detail.

  • Liaising with IT, Payroll, and Finance teams to resolve local administrative needs, providing expert support and guidance.

  • Providing remote support to our teams and occasionally traveling across the state as required, showcasing adaptability and flexibility.

Requirements:

  • A genuine passion for community and a professional approach when interacting with people, fostering strong relationships.

  • Proven experience in general administration, customer service, and strong computer literacy, with a focus on delivering exceptional results.

  • Attention to detail and experience with systems like Workday, although not essential, is highly desirable.

  • Confidence in working independently, especially across multiple sites or remote locations, demonstrating self-motivation and initiative.

  • An understanding of compliance within the not-for-profit or volunteer sector, ensuring alignment with regulatory requirements.

  • A valid driver's license and ability to travel statewide, accommodating business needs.

  • Completion of required background checks, including Police and Working with Children/Vulnerable People clearances.
