About the Role:

The Australian National Audit Office (ANAO) is seeking a highly skilled and experienced individual to fill the position of Director, Finance. As a key member of the finance team, you will be responsible for leading and managing the financial accounting function, financial operations, and the development of the Annual Financial Statements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the financial accounting function, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting.
  • Oversee the financial operations function, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
  • Develop and implement financial strategies to support the ANAO's business objectives.
  • Provide strategic advice and guidance to the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and Deputy CFO on finance-related matters.
  • Lead and develop key internal and external relationships, including stakeholders and business partners.
  • Manage and coach the Finance team, providing guidance and support to ensure their success.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in financial leadership and management, with a strong focus on stakeholder engagement and attention to detail.
  • Excellent decision-making skills, with the ability to analyze complex financial data and make informed decisions.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain effective relationships with stakeholders.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with multiple priorities and tight deadlines.
  • Highly developed problem-solving and influencing skills, with the ability to resolve issues in a timely and effective manner.

Desirable Qualifications:

  • Tertiary financial qualification(s) or working towards.
  • Experience using financial systems and software.

Eligibility:

  • Citizenship: To be eligible for employment with the ANAO, applicants must be an Australian citizen.
  • Security Clearance: The preferred applicant will be required to obtain and maintain a security clearance at the specified level.
