This is a key role within the Financial Management Branch, responsible for providing guidance and advice on the process to establish legislative authority for Commonwealth expenditure.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide expert guidance and advice on the Financial Framework (Supplementary Powers) Regulations 1997, ensuring compliance with legislative requirements.
  • Prepare high-quality written material, including Ministerial correspondence, Senior Executive briefings, and reports, to support decision-making and policy development.
  • Conduct in-depth research, analysis, and quality assurance to provide an evidence-based foundation for policy decisions.
  • Lead stakeholder engagement and represent the department in interactions with internal and external stakeholders, including across government.
  • Supervise and develop staff to ensure the team's success and growth.
