About the Role:

This role provides high-level professional support to internal and external stakeholders regarding councillor community engagement. You will action requests from councillors for advice and support on operational matters through the facilitation of service-related communications between councillors and the organisation. You will also action requests from community organisations for small amounts of financial support through the Councillors' Discretionary Fund.

You will provide high-level administrative support to councillors to enable them to carry out their elected duties in an efficient and timely manner, ensuring confidentiality, discretion, and governance compliance on all matters. You will ensure appropriate arrangements are in place for internal and external meetings, official commitments, invitations to events, room bookings, catering, speeches, agendas, and organise all aspects of councillors' travel, including flights and accommodation, car hire, and expense claims.

About You:

To be successful in this role, you will have a Certificate IV in Business and a minimum of 3 years' experience in a related or similar role, preferably in customer services or community engagement. You will have qualifications (membership and/or certificate) or experience in public consultation (e.g., IAP2) and experience in social media activity.

You will need experience in conducting or assisting in stakeholder consultation, including group facilitation, and strong interpersonal skills, including relationship building and negotiation. Additionally, you must be able to plan and organise yourself and others to ensure the timely completion of tasks as part of a team, interacting with team members to deliver a high level of service.
