About the Role

Our organisation is seeking an experienced professional to join its Joint Replacement team as a Robotics Surgical Specialist. In this role, you will play a critical part in supporting orthopaedic surgeons during robotic-assisted hip and knee replacements using Stryker's Mako system.

You will be the primary clinical expert for the Mako system, providing real-time support during procedures and working closely with surgical teams to optimise patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Serve as the in-theatre expert for Mako-assisted procedures, offering technical and clinical guidance to surgeons and theatre staff.
  • Collaborate with surgical teams to ensure optimal use of the Mako robotic platform during joint replacement surgeries.
  • Conduct pre-operative CT-based planning and segmentation to assist in surgical case preparation.
  • Maintain a high level of knowledge in orthopaedic surgical techniques, anatomy, and robotic technology.
  • Provide ongoing training and clinical support to hospital staff and surgical teams.
  • Travel across Sydney and surrounding areas to support multiple hospital sites.
Required Skills and Qualifications

This role is ideal for someone with a strong clinical background and a passion for surgical innovation. You may come from fields such as:

  • Orthopaedic clinical support
  • Biomedical science/engineering
  • Medical device experience
  • Operating theatre nursing/registered nursing experience
  • Physiotherapy or allied health with surgical exposure
  • Human movement or anatomy specialists with clinical experience
