Job Opportunity: Senior Claims Technician

Job Description:

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Senior Claims Technician to join our team. As a key member of our Large Loss Unit, you will be responsible for handling high-value and complex claims, working closely with policyholders, solicitors, loss adjusters, and other stakeholders.

In this role, you will conduct thorough investigations, negotiate with parties involved, and ensure the effective settlement of claims within established authority levels. Your expertise and attention to detail will be crucial in delivering exceptional customer service and achieving successful outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage a portfolio of claims with a potential value of £500K+ from notification through to settlement
  • Pro-actively engage with policyholders, their representatives, third parties, underwriting, and actuarial colleagues
  • Lead solicitor/loss adjuster meetings and AXA estimating committees
  • Share knowledge and support the development of others in your team and the wider claims community

Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Experience of handling high-value and complex commercial property or injury claims, with a settlement authority of at least £500k
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and negotiate
  • Motivational leadership skills, with empathy and adaptability to drive effective outcomes
  • Strong prioritization and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Educated to A-Level or degree standard, or equivalent professional qualification (ACII/FCII/CILA)
