About the Role

The Marketplace Growth Manager is a pivotal position that drives the execution of our marketplace strategy through targeted outreach, commercial negotiation, onboarding support, and data-driven account management.


This role plays a crucial part in leading the acquisition and onboarding of high-potential sellers aligned with our category strategy, developing strategic growth plans for priority categories, and building strong seller relationships.


  • Lead cross-functional teams to ensure seamless seller experiences and drive financial performance by analyzing key performance metrics.
  • Develop and execute comprehensive growth strategies to achieve revenue and performance targets.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Category Strategy Execution: Lead the acquisition and onboarding of high-potential sellers aligned with our category strategy.
  • Growth Planning: Develop and execute strategic growth plans for priority categories, identifying assortment gaps and increasing brand density.
  • Seller Relationships: Build strong seller relationships and support their success through data-driven account management.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate cross-functionally with teams such as Marketplace Operations and Online Trade to ensure a seamless seller experience.
  • Financial Performance: Drive financial performance by analyzing key performance metrics, adjusting seller mix, increasing GMV, and improving contribution margins.
  • Account Management: Own end-to-end account management for a portfolio of marketplace sellers, from onboarding through expansion.
  • Business Reviews: Lead regular business reviews with clients, presenting insights, roadmaps, and ROI-driven recommendations.
  • Market Research: Conduct competitive research and market trend analysis to inform feature prioritisation and pricing strategies.

Requirements:
  • A Bachelor's degree in Business or Commerce (preferred).
  • 3-5 years' experience in digital retail, eCommerce, or marketplace environments.
  • Strong understanding of marketplace platforms, CRM tools, and data analytics.
  • Exceptional communication skills and the ability to thrive in a collaborative, fast-moving environment.
  • Proven experience in sales and client management, with a track record of exceeding targets and building lasting relationships.
  • Demonstrated success in driving double-digit growth in a marketplace or eCommerce environment.
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to translate data into actionable insights and growth opportunities.
  • Strong analytical skills, with experience in using data to guide decisions and optimise performance.
  • Leadership experience, with the ability to manage and mentor teams while also being hands-on and execution-focused.
