About the Role

Brisbane Girls Grammar School is seeking a highly experienced professional to lead the management of the School's properties, facilities, and capital works projects in alignment with the School's strategic goals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan and oversee the management of the School's facilities and grounds for all campuses, ensuring a safe and functional environment for students, staff, and visitors.
  • Develop and implement a range of capital works plans, refurbishment, and long-term maintenance plans that meet the School's strategic and operational needs.
  • Lead the planning, coordination, and execution of Capital Works projects, including new constructions, refurbishments, and infrastructure improvements, and support project-related activities to ensure that all phases of construction projects are completed within specifications, within budget, and compliant with relevant building codes, regulations, and safety standards.
  • Prepare reports and comprehensive project documentation as required, including but not limited to budget updates and recommendations to the Principal and Chief Financial Officer regarding property and facilities matters.
  • Lead and manage the activities of the Property and Facilities department, establishing performance expectations and monitoring progress, performance, and professional development outcomes.
Requirements
  • Previous experience in a similar leadership role is essential, with demonstrated capability to develop a strong-performing team.
  • Tertiary qualification in a Construction-related discipline or an equivalent combination of relevant skills, knowledge, and experience.
  • Builders and Site Supervisor License is essential.
  • A minimum of 5 years' experience in commercial refurbishment, construction, or project management role, with experience managing and coordinating internal and external teams to effectively deliver projects.
  • Demonstrated track record of successfully managing and delivering complex capital works, construction, or maintenance, and infrastructure projects under various contractual arrangements on time and within budget.
  • Excellent project management skills.
  • Experience in contract negotiation, procurement processes, and vendor management.
  • Fire Safety Advisor certification is desirable.
  • Proven experience in conducting regular inspections of facilities to ensure compliance with safety standards and quality expectations.
  • The ability to acquire and maintain a Positive Working with Children Check (Blue Card).
