About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Capital Works Director to lead our team in delivering complex property capital works projects. As a key member of our Corporate, Information, and Property Services Branch, you will be responsible for managing budgets, project risks, and relationships with stakeholders to ensure successful outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage detailed property capital works projects.
  • Oversee the full lifecycle of construction project management, from planning and design to procurement, delivery, and handover.
  • Prepare business cases, reports, and project updates to ensure stakeholders are informed and engaged.
  • Manage budgets and track project expenditure to ensure financial accountability.
  • Identify and mitigate project risks, issues, and ensure compliance with governance frameworks.
  • Establish contracts and monitor contractor performance to ensure high-quality outcomes.
  • Foster a culture of high performance and continuous improvement within the team.
About You

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • Proven experience in property capital projects with complex scopes.
  • Leadership and management experience in project delivery, with a strong track record of success.
  • Strong knowledge of Project and Construction Management systems, including budgeting and risk management.
  • Qualifications in Project Management, such as a PRINCE2 or Agile certification.
  • Exceptional team leadership and accountability, with a focus on delivering high-quality outcomes.
  • Experience with major program changes and rollouts, with a strong understanding of stakeholder engagement.
  • Ability to pass and hold a national police check and worker screening check.
  • Must be an Australian Citizen.
